Frank Rampolla taught painting, drawing, intaglio and Art history at Ringling College in the 1960’s where he developed a loyal following of students who were highly influenced by him and still follow his work today. Considered one of the top 50 liturgical painters of the 20th century, his art was in the genre of figurative expressionism.
As you will notice, his concerns were of the inward significance rather than the outward, he dealt with loneliness, the impossibility of inter-human contact, the drive for inward sustenance, the hunger for an all-consuming faith and man’s inhumanity to man.
